Pray for Bloemfontein

Pray that residents of Bloemfontein who are struggling with despair and hopelessness due to unemployment or HIV/AIDS will turn to God and find hope and comfort in the One who loves them and wants to meet all of their needs.

Thank God for the national pastors, church leaders and church members who are acting as hosts and translators for Athletes in Action teams coming from France to minister in Bloemfontein. Pray they will learn to overcome language barriers and be able to minister effectively together.

Pray for peace among the people of God who live in Bloemfontein. Pray especially that there will be unity among the churches, unity within the churches, and peace with God in individual hearts.

Pray for volunteer teams from France who will be ministering to athletes and fans attending matches in Bloemfontein.

Pray for the athletes and fans from Greece and Nigeria who will be in the city for matches.

Churches in Bloemfontein will be hosting soccer camps for children before and during the World Cup. Pray that volunteers will come to assist the churches and that children and their families will be reached for Christ through this ministry.

Human trafficking is a problem in urban centers throughout South Africa, with people from as far away as western African being brought in and abused. Pray that victims of human trafficking will find ways to escape to safety.

Pray that the “City of Roses” will be a place where fans and players encounter the Rose of Sharon (one of Christ’s names).

Pray for Christian volunteers to be called out who will work with sports ministries before, during and after the World Cup.

Pray for the athletes and fans from Cameroon and France who will be in the city for matches.
